Low score of the day belonged to Zebulon's Randy Bunn who took the A Flight with an even par 72. Lambert wound up tied for 4th with a 76, while Reidsville's Randy Jones and Durham's Eric Ardery were tied for 2nd with 75s. That honor belonged to Burlington's Gary Roberson, who registered his 2nd Tour win with a 74. "Although I was able to hole one out from 155 yards, unfortunately I missed a number of 4 foot putts early in the round which I knew would cost me a chance at winning" said Lambert. He finally chose the 8 iron for his 2nd career "ace". He said "In our group, we jokingly said it could be anywhere from a 6-iron to a knock-down wedge". ![]() Lambert was undecided at first which club to hit on the hole. When the ball is literally touching the pin at the bottom of the cup it's a tough shot to beat. Summerfield's Steve Lambert made sure that no one was going to beat him in the closest-to-the-pin competition on the 155 yard, par 3, 7th hole at Bryan Park's Championship Course in today's Senior Amateur Golf Tour event. ![]()
